Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotarians have been actively involved in International Projects. Over the last 10 years we have contributed to 33 Matching Grants in India , Monterrey Mexico , and Africa .
Of those projects, we have been the lead International Partner in 25 projects. In addition, we have gone on 3 trips to Monterrey Mexico to deliver a container of wheelchairs.
Moreover, we have donated to other organizations helping in Vietnam, Afghanistan, to name a few, as well as Polio Plus, Rotaplast and LN-4.
Here are a few of the projects we have been directly involved in implementing or are in the process of executing in partnership with a Rotary Club in the country of origin.
India
- Provided a Mobile Medical Eye Clinic van in Calcutta
- Built 20 wells for arsenic free water in West Bengal
- Provided teaching equipment for disabled children in Calcutta
- To provide cataract surgeries for 4,000 patients in 6 locations in Kolkata and West Bengal
Africa
- To provide restroom and soccer field in Zambia
Monterrey, MX
- Provided medical equipment for a newly built Red Cross Clinic in Santa Catarina
- Provided equipment for a Computer Center in low income area
- Provided equipment and furnishings to a Deaf School for low income individuals
- To provide kitchen equipment in facility serving mentally disabled individuals
